The Northern Territory Government is committed to supporting strong and clear employment pathways for Territory students.
The Department of Education’s Employment Pathways division is about building these strong pathways to employment, training and further education within remote communities.
Educational resources have been developed by Employment Pathways in partnership with the Australian Government that focus on remote Indigenous students, employing multimodal learning to improve student engagement and overcome literacy barriers.
The resources aim to provide a positive learning experience for Year 8 – 12 students while building students self-confidence and preparing them for local employment. Making the learning relevant the resources connect students to real examples in the real world of work. They value the time and energy of teachers and staff while enriching the learning experience for students.
Employment Pathways also have exciting new programs in development.
We are extending an invitation to participate in trialling these new and innovative resources designed for Indigenous students in order to build vocational pathway capacity. Employment Pathways believe the trialling process is crucial to ensure the programs meet student and technology requirements for the diverse range of Northern Territory remote schools.
If you are interested in contributing by being a critical friend during the development phases or participating in the trialling process, please contacts us at: employment.pathways@nt.gov.au.
